Touch sensing soft cover

This cover is designed to be fitted to COBOTTA PRO. Attaching this high-sensitivity soft cover increases the speed of collaborative operation to allow higher productivity.

Increased speed during collaborative operation

Our touch sensing soft cover is extremely compact compared to general-purpose soft covers, even if covers are attached to all robot surfaces. The touch sensing soft cover features a two-layer design consisting of a soft silicon cover and a high-sensitivity built-in sensor. When a collision is detected, the built-in sensor reacts at high speed to immediately stop the robot. The soft cover serves to minimize the impact force on operators by absorbing the collision. Protrusions in the silicon cover increase cushioning while realizing high sensitivity. As a result, installation of the soft cover allows the speed of collaborative operation to be increased. Of course, the COBOTTA PRO can also be used as a collaborative robot without a soft cover.

Changes in speed when using the touch sensing soft cover

*The table shows the figures for COBOTTA PRO 1300.
*1 “Clamping” refers to a collision where the body part is clamped and cannot recoil or retract.
*2 “Collision” refers to a collision where the body part is not clamped and can recoil or retract.

End effector cover

We offer end effector covers in two sizes. Choose the one that best suits your end effector’s shape. While the RLO function is effective if there’s only one sharp area, you can avoid high-force collisions involving an end effector with numerous sharp areas by covering it with an end effector cover. The cover incorporates a contact sensor, allowing it to stop the robot if it detects a collision.

Fine direct teaching

This option enables teaching on the order of 0.1 mm. It helps facilitate final positioning, including in precise processes, using direct teaching alone.

Inching function

The inching function enables precise teaching on the order of 0.1 mm by letting you move the arm by the specified unit of distance. Since you can perform fine adjustments using direct teaching alone, you can realize intuitive teaching for elaborate tasks like mating and insertion of parts.

Significant reduction in time spent on teaching work

By utilizing basic functionality along with the arm buttons and optional functions, you can realize teaching that includes precise positioning without the need to go back and forth between a teaching pendant and arm operations. In addition, you can use easy block programming to create a multi-step program that extends from removing a workpiece to reinserting it, all without taking your hand off the arm. These capabilities help you quickly automate processes in a simple, intuitive manner without sacrificing continuity.

Plane alignment function

The plane alignment function automatically moves in the vertical direction relative to a plane configured in advance by three-point teaching. It simplifies the process of setting up diagonal vertical movements, helping make teaching part insertion and assembly tasks less labor- and time-intensive.

Easy block programming

This easy-to-use programming system utilizes blocks. It allows visual, intuitive programming so that even first-time robot programmers can automate not only simple tasks, but also processes that exhibit some degree of complexity.

Intuitive programming using blocks

The COBOTTA PRO’s easy-to-use programming system uses blocks. With this approach, building programs is like solving a puzzle. There’s no need to learn language-basic programming methods, and you can avoid programming errors caused by text entry mistakes. Thanks to the ability to set detailed values on a property screen, the approach can also accommodate complex processes.

Simple drag-and-drop operation

You only need to connect blocks from a library. Since the system doesn’t let you link blocks with theoretically impossible operations, you can avoid syntax errors. This approach helps reduce man-hours that would otherwise be spent on correcting errors and fine-tuning code.

Highly visible original icons

Original icons make it easy to visually identify operations, ensuring the system can be learned quickly. Even beginners can create programs in a short period of time. *Figure illustrates an example screen.
