Respect for Employees

Basic Stance

The DENSO Group Declaration of Corporate Behavior promises to respect its employees and establish a motivating workplace for each individual. To this end, DENSO WAVE has been working to establish the systems and structures for human resources development.

Specific Initiatives

  • 1)Enhancing education by employment level

In order to improve abilities and further promote understanding of the roles required at each stage, DENSO WAVE enhances educational programs by employment level.

  • 2)Employee awareness survey

With a view to increasing the satisfaction of employees, DENSO WAVE conducts an employee awareness survey to identify the employees’ degree of motivation for work and satisfaction about their managers and workplaces. The results of the survey are communicated to managers to encourage the autonomous improvement of each workplace, and are also used in formulating various personnel measures.

  • 3)Employees’ association

The employees’ association was formulated for the purpose of creating a lively workplace environment and encouraging communication between employees, with the aim of establishing a company in which all employees work in unity and participate autonomously and proactively in business activities. Representatives of each workplace plan various events, such as a bowling competition, gather opinions from employees, and promote the acquisition of paid leave and other activities for the employees.

Safety and Health

Basic Stance

To ensure a solid business foundation, it is absolutely essential to improve safety and health management.
As such, we are working to achieve continuous improvements in safety and health based on the premise that creating safe and ideal working conditions is the best way to realize both human dignity and high productivity. This policy is built on the fundamental principles of safety, health and the environment established by DENSO Corporation in 1969.

1.Fundamental principles of safety, health and the environment

Human beings should never lose their life, health or physical functions due to work.

  1. 1.Thoroughly observe the policy that “creating safe and ideal working conditions is the best way to realize both human dignity and high productivity.”
  2. 2.Pay attention to environmental protection and the preservation of ecological systems/resources in all business activities both inside and outside Japan, while coexisting in harmony with local communities through environmental protection.
  3. 3.Each organization, managerial person, and associate in each workplace should participate in all such activities, fully applying their creativeness and ideas.
2.Action agenda for practicing the fundamental principles
  1. 1.Safety and health are prerequisites to conducting business activities, and each one of us must act under the principle that “safety is the top priority.”
  2. 2.Observe laws, company rules and the DAS.
  3. 3.By effectively applying a safety and health environment management system, implement continuous measures to maintain and improve a safe and worker-friendly workplace environment, and also to help preserve the natural environment.
  4. 4.In environment preservation activities, ensure that each aspect of technology development, plant operation and associate's behavior will contribute to growth in harmony with the environment and the creation of an enriched recycling-oriented society.
  5. 5.For the better future of local communities, conduct activities that can garner trust from society independently or in cooperation with local communities.
  6. 6.Proactively promote the safety, health and environmental activities participated in by all members toward "Zero accidents/disasters," such as Kaizen initiatives employing the innovative ideas of each individual.

Promotion Structure

The Safety, Health, and Environment Committee meeting is held every month, chaired by the Senior Managing Executive Officer in charge of technology management, whereat safety and health initiatives, as well as environment-related policies and targets, are set, and priority activities and measures are discussed and followed up.
